Put-In at Dawn — Flow Reading 1,840 CFS

Departed put-in at 0614 with six participants and two guides. River level matched forecast within 120 CFS. First rapid section (Class III) ran clean — one participant required verbal coaching on paddle timing but recovered without incident.

Lunch stop at river mile 4.2. Canyon wall shade kept temperatures manageable. Continued to take-out at 1430. Total river time: 8h 16m. Gear manifest items all accounted for at debrief.

Summit Approach — Elevation 3,420 ft

Started trailhead at 0545. Frost on upper switchbacks required crampon deployment at mile 2.1. Group pace consistent at 1,200 ft/hr vertical gain. Summit reached at 1012 — visibility approximately 40 miles to the south.

Descent via alternate ridge line. One participant reported mild knee discomfort on rocky descent — adjusted pace and completed route without further issue. Total elapsed: 9h 40m.

Skin Track Start — Avy Index 2/5

Beacon check completed at trailhead. All six transceivers synced and tested in search mode. Skin track set at moderate pitch — 12° average. Snow surface: wind-packed crust over 15cm soft layer.

Three descent runs completed by 1400. Wind increased to 28 MPH on upper ridge — elected to cut session one run short per safety protocol. Equipment return and debrief completed at base by 1530.
